Talent or Hard Work
Is Singing About Talent or Hard Work
As a singing teacher, I am always asked whether we need to have talent in order to be successful in the music business. It’s kind of a big controversy. Do you need to have talent to find success? Really? Or is it that you need to be willing to put in the work.
Work Hard and Smart
And when I say work, this includes but is not exclusive to:
*Investing time and money with a good vocal coach
*Putting in time and money with a acting/performing coach
*Invest in dance lessons, in songwriting lessons, in an instrument
*Starting lessons in spite of the fear of the future
*Despite the lack of support from friends or family
*Despite your age
And any or all of these things scare you out of trying to be successful if you allow yourself to look at it from the perspective of whether it will happen based solely on your level of talent. And if you look, there are many singers out there that may or may not be ‘talented’ and they are living their dream regardless.
So if being in the music business is truly something you want to achieve, then do everything in your power to be your best, and don’t worry about the talent.
